Anatomy -
As a classically trained anatomist, I am knowledgeable in, and have taught, all of the areas of anatomy, to include human gross anatomy, embryology, histology and neuroscience. |
Neuroscience -
My doctoral and postdoctoral work was in the area of cellular neuroscience and I have published research utilizing electron microscopy, histochemistry and neuroimaging. I have worked in motor systems (neuromuscular junction, basal ganglia) and sensory systems (vision). |
Student Affairs -
As the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs for the School of Health Professions I deal with a variety of student issues, to include academic progress, professionalism, scholastic dishonesty, disability accomodation, scholarships and financial aid, as well as advising and counseling of students. |
Technology in Education -
As the principle investigator of the GATEways (Gross Anatomy Teaching Enhancement) project I have coordinated the development of various products designed to enhance the teaching and learning of human gross anatomy. |
Web Course Development -
I have used WebCT and Blackboard to develop courses since 1997. I have offered several different courses using these platforms, and have been an invited consultant to several groups on this topic. I am a firm believer of the value of using technology to enhance teaching and learning. |
