Cheryl Burns, MS, MLS(ASCP) is a Distinguished Teaching Professor and Director of the Medical Laboratory Sciences Program in the School of Health Professions. She has over 30 years experience in the education of future medical laboratory scientists. Cheryl has given numerous presentations at local, state, and national meetings and has co-authored chapters on hematology laboratory procedures, automation in hematology, and quality assessment in 5 editions of Clinical Laboratory Hematology, edited by Dr. Shirlyn B. McKenzie and Dr. Lynne Williams. She has served on numerous committees at the department, school and university level during her tenure at UT Health San Antonio. Cheryl is currently serving a second term as an elected faculty senator from School of Health Professions and is serving as Past Chair of the Faculty Senate.
