As a tenured Professor of Pharmacology, my unique professional education and expertise are in pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and pharmacogenomics. I had provided patient care, therapeutic and pharmacokinetic consultations. As the director of an accredited clinical laboratory for therapeutic drug monitoring, I had successfully integrated the laboratory and clinical services for provision of patient care. Currently I am the course director and primary faculty for seven pharmacology and therapeutics related courses at UTHSCSA, and also participated in ten team-taught courses. I am the recipient of multiple teaching excellence awards including the 2018 Minnie Stevens Piper Professor, the 2015 University of Texas System Regents` Outstanding Teaching Award, and the 2016 Presidential Teaching Excellence Award. I was inducted into the University of Texas Kenneth I. Shine Academy of Health Science Education in 2017. I had also served as a Faculty Senator for the UTHSCSA Faculty Senate, Chair of Pharmacology COGS and deputy-director of the Physiology and Pharmacology Discipline of the IBMS program of the Graduate School of Biomedical Science
