Course Director - The Clinical Practicum in Pharmacology is a formal elective course for graduate students in the Physiology and Pharmacology Discipline that provides students with focused first-hand exposure to therapeutics and clinical practice. The course incorporates case-based scenarios and a clinical experience in an area relevant to the student?s area of research. |

Course Director - Student Enrollment: 9.
I became the course director in 1/2009. In 2015, I directed the integration of this course, with physiological components, into a new course called Integrated Physiology and Therapeutics for graduate students from Pharmacology and Physiology track for the Fall semester of 2015. This course is also part of the curriculum of the Joint Biomedical Engineering Joint Graduate Program at the University of Texas at San Antonio and UTHSCSA. |

Pharmacology |
The University of Texas Health Science Center |
100 students |
Course Director - Student Enrollment: 100.
I became the course director for this dental pharmacology course in Fall 2006. Prior to 2007, this course has a different course number (PHAR 6006), for which I also taught from 1/2000 to 5/2006.
In 2015, I took the initiative to revise and coordinate the teaching of this course with Freshman Dental Physiology into a single integrated theme-based course that started in Spring 2016. |

5 students |
Course Director - Student Enrollment: 5.
I designed and implemented this course (previous course number PHR 381W) in 2002 to educate students the emerging role of pharmacogenetics and pharmacogenomics in optimization of drug therapy. The course is also listed as an elective course (PHAR 6020) for UTHSCSA pharmacology graduate students. Over the years, I have introduced different components to the basic didactic lecture format, including laboratory sessions, student debates on controversial topics, student presentations, faculty-led discussion, and field trips to clinical laboratories. This course is also part of the curriculum offering of the Joint Ph.D. degree in Translational Science at UTHSCSA, University of Texas at Austin, and University of Texas at San Antonio. |
