Dr. Espino is a leading Hispanic geriatric researcher who has over 120 publications focusing on various aspects of Hispanic aging. Dr Espino is currently Co-Principal Investigator of the the Hispanic EPESE, which is a 5 state longitudinal epidemiologic survey of elder Mexican Americans and a principal investigator on the DELMA, a bicultural survey of end of life attitudes. He has served on numerous national panels including the Mental Disorders of Aging Review Panel of the National Institute of Mental Health, the Department of Health and Human Services Consensus Panel on Alzheimers Disease and Related Disorders, the National Advisory Council of the National Institute on Aging and the National Research Councils Committee on Population special committee on health disparities in late life. He has also been listed in Best Doctors in America.
