Dr. Leal is involved primarily as an attending physician in both the resident continuity and acute care clinic. She is involved in one-to-one teaching of residents and medical students. Dr. Leal serves also as a medical consultant to San Antonio ISD, a school district that serves inner city youth who are of lower socioeconomic status as well as medical consultant for San Antonio School Health Co-op that serves charter schools in San Antonio and the Rio Grande Valley. Dr. Leal has expertise in student and resident level curriculum development. She is involved in the medical evaluation of children in the school health arena as it pertains to a child`s developmental, behavioral health and academic issues. She consults with nurse practitioners in regards to mental health issues as it pertains to a child`s academic success. Dr. Leal participates in web based resident and student curriculum development and implementation. Dr. Leal continues to be a pediatrician to about 100 private patients. |
