I have extensive clinical experience over the past 10 years evaluating and treating the various types of congnitive impairment in elders. |
Medical Legal Aspects of Geriatric Medicine -
As an academic geriatrician I have been asked to render opinions, give depositions, and provide expert testimony on patient care issues for defense attorneys. I have become very familiar with the tort system. |
Team Building -
I enjoy facilitating and leading teams to achieve specific goals. I have taken many courses to learn how to help teams function efficiently. |

| I precept 11 weeks a year the Sub-Internship for medical students on the Family Medicine Geriatric Inpatient Service at the Nix Hospital. The day starts with a educational one hour morning report. The rest of the day is bedside teaching rounds. |

| Fourth year medical students choose this one month rotation in ambulatory frail elder clinic staffed by faculty geriatricians. I precept one student per month. Students read a selection of papers on geriatric conditions and make a short presentation. They are personally supervised individualy in patient evaluations. |
