Research Interest- My research is focused on cardiovascular disease in patients with Chronic Kidney Disease. In particular, I have major interest in hyperphosphatemia of chronic kidney disease, renal osteodystrophy, vitamin D deficiency and cardiovascular calcification. I have also conducted studies on treatment of anemia of patients with chronic kidney disease with IV iron and ESA therapies. I have also been involved in recent clinical trials using ZS-9 for treatment of hyperkalemia. I have published book chapters and numerous articles, reviews and editorials. I also serve as a reviewer for several scientific journals including Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, Kidney International, American Journal of Kidney Disease, Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation, Hemodialysis International, and BMC Nephrology. I have contributed 7 chapters in UpToDate. |
