| Status | Complete |
| Period | 7/2007 - 6/2011 |
| Role | Co-Investigator |
| Grant Detail | Recently, the National Committee on Quality Assurance developed measures to identify potentially inappropriate prescribing in the elderly (PIPE). These measures (2006, 2007 HEDIS PIPE) are controversial and not strongly linked to patient outcomes. Because of methodological problems with prior studies this study will assess the link between HEDIS PIPE exposure and patient outcomes in cohorts of older veterans with incident exposure to drugs included in these measures. |

| Period | 7/2008 - 6/2011 |
| Role | Co-Investigator |
| Grant Detail | Goal: To improve the health of veterans by designing interventions at the clinical microsystem level that will capitalize on the characteristics of complex adaptive systems rather than work against them. |
