A certified low vision therapist (CLVT) is a professional who has successfully completed a certification exam. As a CLVT, responsibilities include assessing and providing therapy to address everyday tasks that are important to individuals with low vision. I am currently one of only a few OT`s in the state and the only Occupational Therapist in San Antonio that is dually certified as an Occupational Therapists and Low Vision Therapist. Majority of patients seen at the Lions Low Vision Center of Texas are older patients with age related eye conditions such as macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy; however, vision rehabilitation services are also provided to patients with low vision due to Acquired brain injury such as stroke or traumatic brain injury. |
