Teaching has been the highlight of my career spanning over twenty years of nursing. My interest has always been in the pediatric setting; specializing in fourteen years of congenital heart disease requiring teaching of parents, and staff of this specialized population. Teaching in an academic setting allow the opportunity to direct and support students by mentoring in the hospital setting and enhancing their learning experience through classroom, simulation and role modeling. I became a clinical instructor in January, 2005 in Family Nursing Care working with thrid semester students in a peditatric; inpatient and outpatient settings. I have also taught in the graduate department for advanced health assessment.
