M. Rosina Finley, MD, CMD is a F&CM & Geriatrics physician currently practicing LTC, Hospice & Palliative Care & in-patient medicine. She is committed to providing quality geriatrics care, the recruitment, education, and retention of healthcare professionals and strives to improve services for the elderly by networking and collaborating with regulatory and patient advocate groups in the community. She has been instrumental in developing the UTHSCSA LTC curriculum which is currently being used in the training of medical students, interns and residents, geriatric and hospice and palliative care fellows,and nurse practitioners. She has also contributed to the development of the in-patient curriculum currently used on the geriatrics in-patient service. She strives to be a positive role model and agent of change in creating a more trusting and
positive image of LTC. She is a faculty associate with the Center for Humanities and Ethics and provides education on ethics and professionalism. She has provided many presentations on EOL Ethics with an emphasis on prognostication, advanced directives, decisional capacity,and ethical and cross-cultural informed consent. Prior to moving to TX she was equally involved in providing geriatrics and LTC services and served as a Secretary of Innovation Network of New Mexico, Inc., previously known as the NM Cultural Change Coalition in LTC. Currently, she is the champion of establishing a SA District of TMDA in SA, TX.
