Following a radiology residency in 1998 and 6 years of practice as a diagnostic radiologist, I yearned for the patient interaction and the gratification that occurs when patient?s improve after treatment. With this in mind, I combined interests in both radiology and clinical medicine by completing three specialty training fellowships in order to become an interventional radiologist, where I can better apply my knowledge of imaging to serve the patient using image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. As an interventional radiologist since October, 2007, I currently enjoy the academic work of teaching and research as I serve the University of Texas Health Science Center in many capacities as an Associate Professor.
