Dr. Yanping Ye is an Associate Professor in the Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Care in the Department of Family & Community Medicine. She is board certified in Family Medicine and has a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Geriatric Medicine. She is also Board Certified in Medical Quality. She cares for patients and teaches Geriatric and Palliative Care Fellows, Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students in the UT Senior geriatrics and Palliative Care Clinic, Long Term Care (LTC) Facilities and at the Acute Care for Elderly (ACE) and Palliative Care inpatient service at the Christus Santa Rosa Medical Center Hospital. She was the recipient of competitive Geriatric Academic Career Award from year 2010-2015. She was the Scholar of John A Hartford Center of Excellence in Geriatric Education from 2011-2013. Her scholarly interests include: teach interdisciplinary teams to improve the care for geriatric patients in all care settings across the continuum , develop transitions of care curricula for Geriatric Fellows and Family Medicine Residents, develop and implement patient safety and clinical process improvement projects in the hospitals, outpatient clinic, and LTC Facilities. She was Medical Director for Sorrento Health Care Center associated with Cantex Continuing Care.Dr. Ye was the President of Texas Geriatric Society from 2013-2015. She is currently the Board of Directors for Texas Medical Director Association. Dr. Ye was awarded American Geriatrics Society Fellow status in 2015
