Dr. Juan Andrs Cabrera is originally from Guatemala and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. He is a proud graduate from the University of Notre Dame and University of South Alabama College of Medicine. Dr. Cabrera moved to Texas to complete his residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio. Upon completion of his residency, he was hired as Assistant Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine with a particular interest in polytrauma, acquired brain injuries and assistive technology. The focus of Dr. Cabreras current clinical responsibilities includes program development for the South Texas Veteran Health Care Polytrauma System of Care.

Dr. Cabrera is married to Dr. Alison Cabrera, who is completing a residency in Orthopedic Surgery. His free time is occupied by running, kettlebell training, golf and enjoying the company of his wife and their two dogs.
