I serve as a clinician educator in the Division of Endocrinology and the Department of Medicine. My major interests and activities include teaching and patient care. My focus as a teacher includes educating residents, students, fellows, and other faculty in various topics in the field of thyroid disease. As a clinician, I have a strong interest in thyroid disease and thus have designed my practice to see patients with various thyroid illnesses. I have a weekly thyroid ultrasound clinic and I focus on managing patients with thyroid cancer. On a national level, I am involved in the American Thyroid Association which is an organization for individuals with a strong interest in thyroid illness and disease. |

| I currently oversee the Endocrine Module in the Introduction to Clinical Sciences course for second year medical students in the school of medicine. The group consists of endocrine surgeons, pathologists, ENT surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, fellows, residents, students, and endocrinologists. We review difficult thyroid cancer cases including pertinent surgical pathology, cytopathology, imaging studies to formulate a treatment and management plan to be discussed with these patients. | |||

I instruct them in the use of ultrasound to evaluate patients with thyroid nodules. I also teach them the use of fine needle aspiration to remove cytopathology samples from these nodules.
