Michelle Trbovich, M.D. is Faculty as an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine as well as a Spinal Cord Injury Attending Physician in the STVHCS, Audie L. Murphy Veterans Hospital, Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Unit. She completed her medical degree and PM&R residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She then completed a Spinal Cord Injury Fellowship at Stanford University and an Advanced SCI Research Fellowship at the Palo Alto VA Health Care System studying heat acclimation in SCI. Dr. Trbovich is board certified in both Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Spinal Cord Injury. Her research interests are thermoregulation in SCI as it relates to athletes and non-athletes, bone loss in SCI, neuro-regeneration and prognosis in SCI. She has collaborated with international experts in the field of thermoregulation in SCI and maintains active membership and participation in national SCI organizations such as American Spinal Injury Association and Academy of SCI Professionals. She has served as a consultant to pharmaceutical companies in the area of Pain in SCI, has been an invited guest lecturer to the Department of Defense physicians who treat persons with SCI and has been active in lecturing/teaching residents in the PM&R residency programs at Stanford and UTHSCSA.
