I am a full-time assistant professor/Research Tenure Track, with a Graduate Faculty Status at the School of Nursing University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio and serve as the Safety Coordinator and Informatics Consultant for the University Health System, a 705-bed Magnet facility in SA, TX (20% Effort). I am an expert in health informatics, evidence-based practice, and online education. My research aims to transform healthcare environments through systemic, evidence-based, research and QI projects to improve safety and quality of care, with a central theme to optimize the design, usability and safety of IT systems and generate and use practice-based data to track trends.
I am the director of the Informatics Course at the School of Nursing and teach other courses in Leadership and Research.
