UTHSCSA Faculty Profiles v1.0

Singh, Achint K

School of Medicine

I am a board certified radiologist working as a pediatric and neuroradiologist in the department of radiology at UTHSCSA since 2012. I was always interested in academic practice and I was really glad when I got this job. I believe that a faculty can grow as much as they want in the academic practice. I have a passion for teaching as I believe that what I learned from my great teachers should be passed to someone else. My dream came true when I was awarded the ?Teacher of the Year? award in 2014 and 2016. I enjoy working with residents in the reading room, and mentor them with multiple projects. My clinical colleagues routinely consult me regarding the radiological studies and I always make myself available for that to provide the highest level of patient care. Pediatric neuroradiology is my passion and I always try to keep in touch with the recent advances in this field. This is a tough field due to the variable appearance of the developing brain and different set of pathologies in the neonates, toddlers, and older children. I routinely participate in scholarly activities such as writing articles, poster presentations and presenting lectures. Making changes in patient?s life is the ultimate goal of a doctor and I try to achieve that goal every day.
