Christina Olson joined the faculty at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in January of 2013, after teaching for sixteen years in an Associate Degree Nursing program. Prior clinical nursing experience span eighteen years and included the practice areas of Infectious Disease in advanced practice and Critical Care nursing, Emergency Room nursing and Medical Surgical nursing. Practice credentialing include the roles of: Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist and certification as a Critical Care RN.
Chris?s educational background began with graduation from Chestnut Hill School of Nursing in Philadelphia, a Bachelor?s degree in Nursing from The College of Staten Island - CUNY system, in New York, and a Master?s degree in Nursing from the University of Missouri ? Kansas City. Chris is currently a doctoral candidate at Texas Woman?s University working on a quantitative dissertation in nursing focused on Learner Presence in Online RN-to-BSN Students. Others focus areas include: Education, Health Disparities in the Transgendered Community and Assessment of Cultural Awareness in Nursing Students.
At present Chris is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing, teaching in both traditional, accelerated undergraduate tracks, in Health Assessment, Foundations, and Leadership and Management and in the RN-to-MSN completion program, teaching Nursing Leadership Theoretical Foundations.
