Dr. Montanez is an Assistant Professor/Clinical and Family Physician who joined UTHSCSAs Department of Family and Community Medicine in September 2015. Besides providing patient-centered care in her personal clinic, Dr. Montanez teaches residents and medical students in the Family Health Center on the Robert B. Green Campus, Family Medicine In-patient Service at the University Hospital, Kenwood and Salinas Pre-Natal Clinic, as well as the Bexar County Juvenile Detention Center (JDC).

After completing St. Georges University School of Medicine in 2011, Dr. Montanez moved to San Antonio to attend the UTHSCSA Family and Community Medicine Residency program, where she developed administrative skills by serving as Chief Resident. She joined the faculty of the program after graduating in 2015. Her areas of interest include providing patient-centered care, caring for the underserved population, teaching Family Medicine residents and students in multiple clinical settings, and conducting research on domestic violence.
