I have presented at local, regional, and national conferences, as well as published in peer reviewed journals on infection prevention and patient safety topics. I have succeeded in being recognized nationally in the field of infection prevention evidenced best in my invited position as clinical Editor-In-Chief of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control (APIC) TEXT, the primary reference text used world-wide for infection prevention. In addition, I received the 2011 APIC New Investigator of the Year award, and the 2016 UT Health San Antonio Presidential award for "Distinguished Junior Research Scholar".
