Maureen Alvarado, D.O. is an assistant professor of the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where she mentors medical students. Dr. Alvarado provides health care to pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients at the UT Medicine Medical Drive Primary Care Clinic, a patient centered medical home certified practice. Her areas of focus include preventative care and wellness, women?s health, chronic disease management, and osteopathic manipulation.
Dr. Alvarado received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale Florida after the completion of her Bachelor of Science in Biology at the same University. She completed her Family Medicine residency training at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University where she served as Chief resident during her last year of training.
