Respiratory Care

I am a full time Assistant Professor within the Department of Respiratory Care at UT Health San Antonio.
My previous employment was at San Antonio Military Medical Center in the Institute of surgical research. There I was the Education Coordinator in the Burn ICU. I have been a Registered Respiratory Therapist for 5 years and achieved my master?s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Incarnate Word in May of 2017. I plan on applying to and beginning a PhD program within the next year. Being involved in research, education and patient care are a few of the many things that drive me to work harder, expand my knowledge and educate others. Working with and teaching the students to love and appreciate the work we do, as respiratory therapist, is something that I have come to love and truly enjoy. I definitely have a lot to learn from colleagues and students and I embrace the experience. My goal is to set high expectations for the students and mentor them to attain success in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings, leading to clinical excellence, success on the national board examinations, and ultimately to obtaining their preferred position in respiratory care.
