My role as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) with the Division of Vascular Surgery and as faculty in the School of Nursing fulfills two areas of focus ? teaching and practice. My clinical practice role shares a rich experience of advanced nursing practice with patients in many settings, currently with patients with vascular disorders. I seek to provide quality in my clinical practice and a respect and compassion for each person that I encounter. I also attempt to provide each patient with an understanding of their disease and risk factors and engage each patient in the management of their disease.

As a faculty in the School of Nursing, one of my great enjoyments is the enrichment of clinical knowledge of graduate nursing students seeking a role in advanced practice. It is my goal to instill in each student an enthusiasm for learning in-depth knowledge about diagnosing and management of patients in their clinical practice and a compassion for the patients they will be treating. I enjoy both teaching and patient care and I thoroughly enjoy my role as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN).
