Dr. Clegg is a graduate of Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis where she received a Master of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy, having previously earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Drury University in Missouri.  She received her Doctorate of Education (EdD) in 2017 from University of St. Augustine for Health Science. Dr. Clegg is responsible for the coordination of all clinical fieldwork activities in the occupational therapy program.


She has clinical experience in adult rehabilitation and expertise in working with patients with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Her research background includes outcomes related to interprofessional education about ALS. She has interest in research related to ALS Frontotemporal Dementia as well as Alzheimer?s disease. Dr. Clegg`s community-based research has included funding for collaboration with Meals on Wheels on outcomes and falls risks reduction through home evaluation interventions for home bound seniors. Additionally, she has completed research related to curriculum development for teaching and learning theories and the application in the clinical setting for clinical educators.Dr. Clegg was awarded the UTHSCSA Presidents Excellence in Clinical Practice Award in 2014. In 2015, she received the Award for Clinical Excellence by the Texas Occupational Therapy Association and also received the 2017 Texas Occupational Therapy Association Interdisciplinary Team Award as part of the ALS clinic team. She was honored with the School of Health Professions Spectrum Award in May 2018.
